ACP Speaks for Marijuana's Medical Research
Marijuana’s medical properties has been known for centuries, however, the strict laws are limiting the medical research that can be made on this especial herb.
Currently the American College of Physicians (ACP) has released a paper speaking for the legalizarion of marijuna. ACP states that the medical use of marijuana should be separated from the debate of legalizing marijuana for general use.
Additional research is needed to further clarify the therapeutic value of cannabinoids and determine optimal routes of administration. Unfortunately, research expansion has been hindered by a complicated federal approval process, limited availability of research-grade marijuana, and the debate over legalization.
At the moment marijuana is classified in same category with so called “hard drugs” e.g. with heroin, and the strict rules are giving trouble for the medical research. Read the full paper on ACP’s website for more details.
