Google Earth Revealed Cannabis Field
Swiss police has reported they have found a large cannabis plantation by using Google Earth, the Google’s satellite mapping software. The police says the way the discovery was made was interesting.
The plantation, measuring almost two acres (7,500 square meters), was hidden inside a field of corn. But officers using Google Earth to locate the address of two farmers suspected of involvement in the drug operation quickly spotted the illegal crop.
This led to arrests of sixteen people. The group is alleged to sold up to even 7000 kilograms of of hashish and marijuana between the years 2004 and 2008.
