Healing Mushroom
Mushrooms have been used in oriental medicine for thousand of years. Recently, in a research made by the scientists at the Methodist Research Institute in Indianapolis, U.S., a mushroom called Phellinus linteus could have properties that make it able to beat cancer cells.
The research has indicated that the mushroom can hold back the growth of skin, lung and prostate cancer cells. … We’re not yet able to apply this knowledge to modern medicine, but we’re excited that we can begin to explain how this ancient medicine works by acting on specific molecules.
Further research is needed before it will be known if mushroom extracts can be used to treat cancer patients. The scientists hope that the study will encourage more researchers to explore the use of medicinal mushrooms for the treatment of cancer.
