Hydroponics Speed Up Ginseng Growth
Korea’s Rural Development Administration has introduced a new technology which has not been used for ginseng cultivation before. The new method takes advantage of hydroponics and the plants grow with their roots in water.
This methods speeds up the ginseng growth considerably. With the new technology it takes only four months for the Koreans to cultivate a two-year-sized ginseng root. Also with this method the amount of space needed for each plant is smaller.
These factors makes farmers able to earn larger profits. Considering the extremely popular status of ginseng in Korea this discovery will undoubtedly be very profitable. The Rural Development Administration has been given a patent for this ginseng growing technique.
