Many Cannabis Coffee Shops Closed In Year 2012
About one fifth of the cannabis coffee shops in Amsterdam will have to close because the city rule. The new rule will come into effect in the beginning of the year 2012.
The city administration has decided that all cannabis-selling shops must be at least 250 meters away from junior high schools and colleges. Other cities have had similar rules in the past.
The new rule will make 43 out of 228 shops to close their doors.
Coffee shops have had a right to sell cannabis products from the sixties. Some of the stores also sell hallucinogenic mushroom.
