Pregnant Women Should Quit Caffeine?

British researchers report women who are pregnant should limit or completely quit use of caffeinated products including tea, coffee, soft drinks, energy drinks, and chocolate.

The issue might not be caffeine itself, but one of the compounds that caffeine breaks down into.

In the study, greater caffeine consumption was linked to greater odds of having a baby with fetal growth restriction.

We think that pregnant women should be advised to reduce their intake of caffeine products during pregnancy, as long as they don’t replace those products with alcoholic beverages or sugary soft drinks.

There have been also studies that have not shown the possible risk of caffeine consumption. However, if you want to take a little bit extra care, stopping caffeine use during pregnancy may be a good choice.
