Sunlight May Prevent Dementia
When our skin is exposed to sunlight it starts to create vitamin D, the important vitamin that keeps our bones strong and immune system functioning. Now it seems it may also prevent dementia.
Sunlight is good for you!
Researchers are starting to get interested in the other functions of this sun vitamin. In a study people with good vitamin D levels were not as likely to have impaired mental function. This suggests Vitamin D may prevent e.g. Alzheimer’s disease.
If for some reason you can’t get enough sunlight exposure you can compensate it by using vitamin D supplements. These supplements are available for example in almost any grocery store. Getting enough vitamin D is important especially for older people.
